ThermoField™ Localized Hyperthermia

Localized Heat: What to Know

The Karlfeldt Center · Meridian, Idaho

ThermoField uses controlled local heat. Ask how the session is delivered and what evidence supports its use for your specific concern; for cancer, it is supportive care and not a replacement for oncology treatment.

What Is ThermoField?

ThermoField is a localized heat service intended to warm a selected area. What it can do depends on the device, treatment site and condition. Ask for the evidence that applies to your specific concern; effects seen with other hyperthermia systems should not be assumed to apply to this device.

A session is delivered without surgery. The team should explain the device settings, expected sensations, potential risks and alternatives before treatment.

How the Clinic Uses ThermoField

Cancer care: evidence and boundaries

ThermoField is not an established cancer treatment. This page does not show that it improves tumor response or makes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, vitamin C, artemisinin or PDT work better. If you are considering localized heat during cancer care, discuss it with your oncologist first and do not delay or change prescribed treatment.

2. Pelvic & Sexual Health

Some patients ask about localized heat for pelvic symptoms. Evidence and appropriate care depend on the diagnosis; this page does not establish that ThermoField treats urinary leakage, vaginal changes or sexual concerns. A clinician can discuss evaluation and established options.

3. Pain, Injury & Neuropathy

The center offers ThermoField sessions for selected musculoskeletal concerns. Response varies, and a warming session should not be described as repairing tendons or nerves or resolving the cause of pain. Ask what evidence applies to your diagnosis and what other options are available.

What to Expect During a ThermoField Session

Is ThermoField Safe?

No medical procedure or device is risk-free. A clinician should review the device instructions, treatment area, health history and relevant contraindications with you before a session.

Before treatment, we:

Before treatment, the team should review your health history and the device’s contraindications, explain the proposed treatment area and settings, and answer your questions. Tell the team about pregnancy, implants, altered sensation, infection or any new symptoms.

During treatment, we:

During a session, the practitioner should follow the device instructions, monitor your comfort and the treatment area, and stop if you experience unexpected pain, burning or other concerning symptoms.

Comfort varies by person. Ask what sensations are expected and let the practitioner know promptly if anything feels uncomfortable.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

There is no one schedule that fits every condition. Ask why a series is being recommended, what outcome will be assessed and when the plan will be reviewed.

Session frequency should be discussed for your specific concern and the device protocol. The center may suggest a series, but the evidence and expected benefit should be explained before you commit.

Your clinician can discuss the proposed plan, the evidence and the point at which you would reassess whether to continue.
