Hair mineral analysis is an inexpensive and noninvasive way of measuring mineral and heavy metal levels, often revealing abnormalities and dysfunctions not detected through other routine tests.
Minerals are the spark plugs of the body needed for millions of enzymes as cofactors, facilitators, inhibitors and as part of the enzymes themselves. Hair mineral analysis is a tissue biopsy where we gain information about activity within the end station of all nutrients, the cell, not just what is floating around in the blood. The site of metabolism is the cells. Blood is excellent for many tests, but does not measure activity directly at the cellular level.
The final destination for all vitamins, minerals, sugars, fats and hormones is the cells, not the blood. It makes sense to measure the cells directly to determine whether these substances are actually reaching their final destination. By interpreting the levels and ratios of the different minerals and observing the levels of heavy metals in the hair you can find out about your thyroid, adrenal, kidney, blood sugar, digestive, autonomic nervous system, male and female hormonal function on a cellular level, which is quite different from just measuring what levels of hormones that are floating around in the blood. You can also learn about your emotional levels, oxidation rate, metabolic type, dietary concerns, carbohydrate tolerance, stress patterns, and energy and vitality levels.
