Dr. Jason Barker is a Naturopathic Doctor. He received his medical training from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. Dr. Barker’s clinical focus is utilizing integrative medicine to help his patients. Integrative medicine includes the full spectrum of physical, emotional, mental, social, energetic, spiritual, and environmental factors that influence your health. Dr. Barker also takes the time to listen to his patients to understand their healthcare needs better. Dr. Barker is a member of the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs (MedMAPS) and has extensive experience treating children on the Autism Spectrum. He also treats digestive disorders, anxiety and depression, Lyme disease and co-tick infections, auto-immune, allergies, and much more.
“What drew me to Naturopathic medicine was a desire to help people understand their health. People’s hardware is roughly the same. We all have hearts and brains, toes and fingers, blood and tears. Yet every one of us is different. We are shaped by our genetics, our experiences, and our environment. So treating everyone as an individual is the only way I see medicine working properly. I look forward to helping you understand your own health.”
Dr. Jeff Hartford graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine with a medical degree. He did his residential internship for Family Practice right here in Boise and continued to have an individual practice in Boise for years. Dr. Hartford also had the opportunity to practice at medical clinics in Council and Cascade.
Several years ago, Dr. Hartford left allopathic medicine to be trained as a traditional Naturopathic Doctor, receiving his ND decree out of India. He then did an 18-month fellowship with The Karlfeldt Center. During his fellowship, he mastered autonomic response testing, or ART, under Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, and learned European Neurotherapy technics.
Dr. Hartford is certified in Ozone and Prolozone by Dr. Frank Shallenberger and has a broad spectrum of experience in many areas relating to naturopathic and allopathic health.
He looks forward to serving the Treasure Valley and TKC patients through:
Children’s well check-ups
Women’s health
Family medicine
Oncology support
APN
Neurotherapy
Prolozone
Dr. Hartford and Szilvi believe food is medicine and enjoy living on their fully sustainable farm with a large organic garden, and dairy.
Dr. Summer Beattie is a Naturopathic Physician. Born and raised in rural Alaska – which will always hold a piece of her heart. In 2004 she received her graduate degree as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine at Seattle’s Bastyr University. She spent nearly eight years in family practice and served two terms on the Board of Directors for the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians before accepting a position at a specialty surgery center in Alaska.
Upon returning to Washington in 2015, Dr. Beattie pursued training with physicians and organizations setting the standard of care in Regenerative Medicine, with an emphasis in injection therapy. Other key tools of her practice include IV, ozone, photodynamic therapies, and hormone optimization. Dr. Beattie also has special interests in addressing brain health and supporting patients with chronic and complex illnesses. She has had the privilege of working with and mentoring under well-known leaders in the treatment of vector-borne, mold, and toxic exposure illnesses as well as supporting patients with autoimmune and neurodegenerative diseases. Collaborating with clinics to provide broader access of care to more patients looking for uniquely integrative and advanced treatments is part of the mission of One Living.
Distance care has become such an important means of access for patients to get the support they’ve needed the last couple years. Dr. Beattie is excited to be able to offer this service through telemedicine for the Karlfeldt Center.
Dr. Beattie’s experience has cultivated a deep passion for giving patients foundational resources and support for overall health and not simply offering procedures and prescriptions or generic treatment plans. Dr. Beattie builds protocols with attention to bioregulatory medicine tenets and includes the use of energetic therapies (such as sound, frequency, and light) along with integrative technological and diagnostic advancements.
When not in the clinic, Dr. Beattie leads a team of instructors training providers in many of the modalities she uses in practice. Equipping and building a collaboration of providers in order to make this medicine available to more patients is some of the most rewarding work Dr. Beattie does.
Her free time is spent adventuring with her two young children, husband, and dog! Outdoor activities, music, and art are a constant part of the family’s busy life.
Dr. Beattie is licensed in WA, MT, and ID.
Monica is the owner of Healing House Colonics at The Karlfeldt Center. In addition to being a business owner and a colon hydrotherapist, she is a wife, mother of three, and a new grandmother. Monica is also a dog mom to two walker hounds and has countless ducks and chickens. She lives about an hour above Boise in the mountains.
“I get asked daily why I do what I do. When I was only 14 years old, my Dad was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer. He passed away just a couple of months after my 17th birthday. My mother suffered through four types of cancers throughout her life. She eventually passed away from bladder cancer. Cancer and other illness are prevalent in the family. I decided this was not going to be my story! I began unpacking all the toxic garbage. I took control and responsibility of my diet, my environment, and my lifestyle. I learned we could not only blame illness on genetics. Often in families, we pass down bad habits, and those bad habits can be more powerful than bad genes. Poor diet, a lack of exercise, unclean foods, substance use, emotional baggage, abuse, and environmental factors often contribute more than our genetics.
Throughout my journey for health and wellness, I discovered Colon Hydrotherapy. Colonics absolutely changed my life and my husband’s life. The gut plays one of the most critical roles in health and wellness. When you’re doing Colon Hydrotherapy, you’re not only cleaning the colon/large intestine; you’re also detoxifying your lymphatic system and other organs like your liver. You will even flush out parasites. (I recommend pairing colonics with a parasite cleanse.) What you eliminate will blow your mind!
Colon hydrotherapy is an absolute game changer for your skin and metabolism. The average person carries approximately 5 to 20 pounds of accumulated waste in their colon, contributing to significant weight gain and illness. The system I use is known as the “open” system. It is a very gentle, gravity-fed system. It is also completely private. You do not need a doctor’s referral or a prescription to have a colonic. It truly is life-changing, and I recommend setting up a time to chat with me to learn more or schedule an appointment.
Colon hydrotherapy is not just a thing I do. The beautiful people I connect with are worth every moment. It’s a ministry. I am so blessed to have this opportunity with each and every person who walks through my door. I give ALL the glory to God; He has placed me in this position. I do this because I believe in it. I do this because I love it!”
