According to the National Brain Tumor Society, approximately 700,000 Americans are currently living with a brain tumor. Of those, 80% are benign (non-cancerous), 20% are malignant (cancerous). In 2018, it is estimated that 75,000+ people received primary brain tumor diagnosis.

What is a brain tumor?

A brain tumor is an abnormal mass or growth of cells in the brain. There are many different types of tumors; some are non-cancerous (benign) and some are malignant (cancerous).  These tumors are capable of disrupting normal brain function, thus affecting various other organ system and functions in the body.

Benign

Least aggressive brain tumor, originates in cells within or surrounding the brain. These do not include cancerous cells, exhibit slow growth, possess clear borders that don’t spread to surrounding tissue.

Malignant

These tumors contain cancer cells and are characterized by unclear borders or defintion.

Primary

Tumors originating in brain cells are known as primary tumors. These types of tumors can spread to other brain parts or the spine, but only in rare cases, to other organs.

Metastatic

Metastatic or secondary brain tumors originate in another part of the body, spreading to the brain later. These are more common tumors than primary, and are designated based upon location of origin.

What causes a brain tumor?

Genetic susceptibility is cited as a primary cause for brain tumor development by conventional health experts. However, there is a body of health professionals, scientists and researchers who have decades recognized the significance of environmental factors which contribute to an increase in the emergence of cancerous and non-cancerous conditions, including brain tumors.

Here are some environmental and chemical factors known to contribute to incidence of brain tumor development:

Pesticides – use of pesticides has been linked to various types of cancer, including brain tumors. Use of pesticides during pregnancy has also been associated with an increased risk of childhood brain tumors.Source: https://www.ehstoday.com

EMF (electromagnetic fields) including both ionizing radiation from X-rays or gamma rays and non-ionizing radiation – from natural and artificial sources in certain parts of the electromagnetic spectrum, including from the sun, black light, welding arcs, UV lasers, cell phones, bluetooth, and other wireless devices including tablets, routers and other appliances.  Repeated exposure to EMF can increase risk oftumor development in various organisms.

Diagnosis of a brain tumor

Depending on your situation, determining the presence of a brain tumor is typically a complex process and can include consultation with specialist practitioners. An MRI or brain scan is often a first step in diagnosis. One common method of diagnosis is a biopsy, and a pathologist may be necessary in determining the type of brain tumor present.

Treatment for brain tumor

Conventional treatment for brain tumor typically involves use of pharmaceutical drugs and other specific industry-approved therapies including the following:

  • Anti-steroidal drugs
  • Anti-seizure / anti-epileptic drugs
  • Surgery
  • Targeted therapies including use of devices that employ electrical fields to reduce tumor size
  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiation treatment

It is important to understand side effects of these treatments and how they may contribute to lowered long-term success rates in treatment, or recurrence of disease. Because the root cause of many disease types and conditions can be traced back to diet, environmental exposure and lifestyle habits, it is recommended to consider benefits of a holistic approach to any treatment and recovery plan for improved health.

Dietary changes, natural treatment, and lifestyle changes for brain tumor

NOTE: as with any lifestyle change, one or two modifications in diet, lifestyle or treatment should not be considered a “cure all”. for any condition, especially one as serious as a brain tumor. Each component, whether dietary, supplement, or lifestyle support comprises a component in holistic approach to treatment and recovery from any chronic or degenerative illness, and is recommended.Remove processed and packaged foods – these contribute to chronic and degenerative disease.

Consume more organic and naturally-produced foods – disease rates can be lowered by attention to a diet of real, whole foods from organic sources (no antibiotics, hormones, pesticides, herbicides, genetically-modified organisms or GMOs).

Ketogenic Diet – as cancer is fueled by glucose or sugar, a diet low or absent in sugar is recommended to induce ketosis and starve cancer cells of their main energy source. Ketogenic diets cause the body to burn ketones as opposed to sugar. Keytones come from foods high in protein and fats.Avoid sugar (see Ketogenic Diet, above).Source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Liver flush – eliminates parasites and microbes in the liver, one of the body’s largest detoxification organs and which typically becomes weakened for proper detoxification in the case of a cancerous or other degenerative disease diagnosis.

Coffee enemas – these types of enemas encourage lymph movement and trigger dumping of toxins, parasites and other harmful substances stored in the liver, thereby lowering the body’s toxic load and strengthening digestive and immune function.

Vegetable juicing – carrot juicing can be especially effective as it contains Vitamin A which is known to shrink cancerous tumors. Carrot, beet, cabbage and broccoli are all beneficial, and cultured vegetable juices (fermented) are also excellent, contain more vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients which support digestion, immunity and detoxification.

Fermented foods and juices – probiotic, enzyme and nutrient-rich cultured foods are beneficial to the immune system and digestive tract, and support detoxification and health.

Raw honey, turmeric and ginger – every other day, consume 2 tsp honey and 1 tsp turmeric or curcumin. Every other day, consume 2 tsp honey and 1 tsp ginger.

Omega 3 essential fatty acids – from fermented cod liver oil, safe-sourced fishgrassfed and finished meats and pastured eggs and poultry, and raw dairy foods from animals raised on pasture are important for brain and nervous system health and maintenance.

Reduce exposure to wireless and devices that use Wifi and emit electromagnetic radiation – including routers, modems, cell phones, computers, SmartMeters and other appliances containing wifi or Bluetooth technology. Turn off or remove devices whenever possible. Do not sleep near these devices.

Ensure adequate sleep and healthy sleep environment – the immune system depends on rest and sleep to heal from disease, sleep being an essential component of healing and wellness. Sleep in a darkened room free from noise and electromagnetic pollution including cell phones, tablets, computers, televisions, clock radios and anything else that emits EMFs is optimal. Choose a mattress, clean, organic bedding and chemical-free garments whenever possible.

Before embarking on treatment for brain or spinal cord tumor, it is recommended to consult with a knowledgeable health care practitioner that can help optimize a solid health care approach for healing and recovery, and explore treatment options. Doing thorough research and obtaining more than one opinion in this and other degenerative or chronic health situation is always advisable.
