Jonathan V. Wright, MD is a pioneer in natural medicine and has long been recognized as a fore-runner in research and application of natural treatments for healthy aging and illness. Writing the first prescription for bio-identical estrogen in 1982, he was the first to develop and introduce the use of comprehensive patterns of bio-identical hormones (including estrogen, progesterone, DHEA, and testosterone). He has more clinical experience in hormone replacement therapy than any other practitioner.

Much has been said about hormone replacement in women, today’s HealthMade radio focus is on bioidentical hormone replacement for men.

A normal level of testosterone, sustained for a lifetime, is one of the most important anti-aging and staying-healthy tools a man can have. It just depends on what type of testosterone. …and synthetic–and patentable– just doesn’t cut it.

For over 30 years, I’ve worked with men ages 45 and up whose symptoms and tests indicated a need for bio-identical testosterone. The results have been gratifying for everyone involved. Most notably, bio-identical testosterone therapy helps improve mood, attitude, cognitive ability, and general outlook on life. Many wives and families have observed that “Grandpa is a lot less grumpy,” remembers things better, and laughs and smiles a lot more often.

In this episode of HealthMade Radio the effects of  bio-identical testosterone on men’s health:

  • Discover how to reduce the risk of heart disease by as much as 80% by simply donating blood a couple of times a year.
  • Learn why heavy sweating a couple of times a week can help improve hormone production
  • Dr. Wright explains how to support your body’s natural production of testosterone with Minerals and Vitamins such as vitamin A, K, D, Magnesium, Boron, Manganese (which provides indirect support) and the herb Ashwagandha

BioIdentical Hormones are Damage Control!

Isn’t getting old, just a part of life? Not Exactly! Dr. Wright explains that we live in a toxic world. What we breathe, apply to our skin, consume in eating- all have chemicals that deplete hormones or restrict hormone production. The importance of hormones cannot be overstated. As a natural course of aging hormones decreases, however, this decrease has been accelerated due to toxicity. Then need to reinforce nature to allow us to live a healthier life span.

This isn’t about boosting the amount of hormones artificially but copying natural levels. “Not by working against nature, but instead to copy nature as close as we can, we are least likely to get in trouble. We are striving for (bioidentical hormone levels) equal to what we had. We want to avoid swallowing hormones as they just end up in the liver, instead rubbed into the skin or mucous membranes. “

Jonathan V. Wright, MD is the Medical Director of Tahoma Clinic where he also practices medicine. A Harvard University (A.B. 1965) and University of Michigan graduate (M.D. 1969), he continues to be a forerunner in research and application of natural treatments for healthy aging and illness. Along with Alan Gaby, M.D., he has since 1976 accumulated a file of over 50,000 research papers about diet, vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and other natural substances from which he has developed non-patent medicine (non-“drug”) treatments for health problems. Dr. Wright has taught natural biochemical medical treatments since 1983 to thousands of physicians in the USA, Europe, and Japan.

He was the first to develop and introduce the use of comprehensive patterns of bio-identical hormones (including estrogens, progesterone, DHEA and testosterone) in 1982 and (at Meridian Valley Laboratory) directed the development of tests to ensure their safe use. He teaches use and laboratory monitoring of bio-identical hormones at several seminars each year. He also originated successful natural treatment for elimination of childhood asthma, developed treatment to stop vision loss or improve vision in the majority of individuals with “dry” macular degeneration, was the first to use aldosterone to reverse age-related hearing loss, discovered the effect of iodine on estrogen metabolism and cobalt on steroid detoxification, popularized the use of D-mannose treatment for E. coli urinary tract infection, developed effective natural treatment for seborrheic dermatitis, allergic and viral conjunctivitis, and Osgood-Schlatter’s disease. In 2013, he resurrected forgotten research and treatment protocols for the application of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) to treat severe neurological problems.

Dr. Wright founded the Tahoma Clinic (1973), Meridian Valley Laboratory (1976), and the Tahoma Clinic Foundation (1996). Tahoma Clinic was established to approach disease by natural means and emphasize correction of imbalances in the body that lead to disease. The infamous 1992 FDA Tahoma Clinic “raid” (“The Great B-Vitamin Bust”) was a major impetus for Congressional reform of vitamin/mineral regulation. Dr. Wright continues to be an advocate for patient freedom of choice in healthcare.

An acclaimed lecturer, Dr. Wright speaks nationwide on varied topics including nutritional medicine, natural hormone replacement therapies for men and women, the natural treatment of cardiovascular diseases, asthma, diabetes, the use of D-mannose for bladder infection, the health benefits of Vitamin D (including correct usage and laboratory testing) as well as many other topics.

Dr. Wright is also the best selling author, with 14 books including “The Book of Nutritional Therapy” and “Guide to Healing with Nutrition” which sold more than 1.5 million copies.
